BTS Ranks No. 1 in August Idol Group Brand Reputation Rankings
BTS was announced as the No. 1 group in the August 2026 idol group brand reputation rankings. BTS recorded a brand reputation index of 7,107,645, followed by RESCENE in second place with 7,045,802 and IVE in third with 3,964,002.
The gap between BTS and RESCENE was 61,843 points. The top-ranked results came from a survey combining boy groups and girl groups.
The top three in the August idol group brand reputation rankings were BTS, RESCENE, and IVE, in that order.
Survey Period and Analysis Scale
The survey was conducted using data collected from July 17 to August 17, 2026. A total of 115,388,244 pieces of idol group brand big data were analyzed, representing a 27.17% increase from the previous month.
The Korea Reputation Research Institute said the survey analyzed consumer participation, media, communication, and community indexes. Accordingly, the published figures can be understood as results based on brand-related data observed online during the period.
A Different Indicator from Music Chart Rankings
The brand reputation index is a reference indicator based on online brand-related data. Because it does not have the same meaning as music streaming, album sales, or official music chart rankings, BTS's No. 1 placement should not be interpreted more broadly as an official ranking of musical performance or actual popularity.
The star brand reputation rankings announced on August 29 were also a separate result, based on a different subject group and collection period. There is no need to confuse the idol group brand reputation rankings with the star brand reputation rankings.
