ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) saw a sharp increase in first-half 2026 earnings. According to published reports, revenue reached 150.31 billion yuan, up 873.64% from the same period a year earlier, while net profit attributable to shareholders totaled 77.61 billion yuan. This marked a turnaround from a loss of 2.33 billion yuan in the same period last year.

The first-half results also exceeded the forecasts presented before the company’s initial public offering: revenue of 110 billion to 120 billion yuan and net profit of 50 billion to 57 billion yuan.

The key point is not the phrase “16 trillion won in net profit,” but that the confirmed figure before conversion into Korean won was 77.61 billion yuan.

How much of the DDR5 product lineup has been disclosed?

CXMT’s official product page lists a maximum speed of 8,000 Mbps for its DDR5 chips. It says the dies are available in 16Gb and 24Gb capacities and that modules are offered for servers, workstations, desktops, and laptops.

This expansion of products indicates that China’s memory supply and competitive landscape could change. However, CXMT’s improved earnings and product specifications alone cannot prove that Samsung Electronics or SK hynix will suffer weaker results or lose market position.

Can the “1% performance gap” be generalized?

One South Korean report said that, in an 8,000 MT/s comparison, CXMT and SK hynix products scored 24,576 and 24,790, respectively, in Geekbench 6—a difference of 0.86%. The same comparison reportedly showed SK hynix ahead in latency and memory timings.

However, these results came from specific test conditions. The full independent test source has not been sufficiently verified, and Tom’s Hardware reported that early testing found CXMT DDR5 to be behind in performance, consistency, and manual overclocking capability. Based on the available evidence, it is therefore difficult to conclude that CXMT DDR5 is broadly equivalent to SK hynix’s products.

What to check now

  • CXMT first-half revenue: 150.31 billion yuan
  • Year-over-year revenue growth: 873.64%
  • First-half net profit attributable to shareholders: 77.61 billion yuan
  • Official maximum DDR5 speed: 8,000 Mbps
  • 0.86% DDR5 performance gap: confirmed only as the result of a specific comparison

These results signal the scale of CXMT’s growth, but the available data are too limited to use them as a direct basis for predicting the stock prices or future earnings direction of South Korean memory companies. In particular, the phrase “16 trillion won in net profit” and the 1% DDR5 performance gap should each be interpreted only after checking the currency-conversion basis and testing conditions.
