On March 31, 2025, Kim Soo-hyun held a press conference to state his position on allegations related to Kim Sae-ron. His attendance at TMA has since been reported as his first official appearance at a major domestic pop-culture event.
The phrase “about 18 months” is an approximate figure used in reports, based on the period between the March 31, 2025 press conference and the scheduled TMA appearance on September 19, 2026.
The key point is that he is scheduled to attend a domestic official event; this does not mean that a full return to domestic activities has been confirmed.
Domestic Official Schedule After Overseas Activities
Kim Soo-hyun has reportedly resumed overseas activities, including an advertisement for a fashion brand in the Philippines and an appearance on a special live broadcast marking the 37th anniversary of Indonesia’s RCTI. The TMA schedule is drawing attention as a confirmed domestic official event following those overseas activities.
However, there is no confirmed evidence to conclude that all of his future domestic activities—including dramas, films, and advertising—will return to normal based on a single appearance as a presenter.
Police Decision Not to Refer the Case Should Be Considered Separately
At the March 31, 2025 press conference, Kim Soo-hyun and his agency’s legal representatives stated their position on the allegations related to Kim Sae-ron. Seoul’s Seongdong Police Station later reportedly decided in July 2026 not to refer the case, concluding that it was difficult to establish criminal suspicion in allegations involving violations of the Child Welfare Act and false accusation against Kim Soo-hyun.
The police decision not to refer the case was reported as an investigative determination that there was insufficient objective evidence to substantiate the allegations. It should not be expanded to mean that the entire factual dispute has been conclusively resolved or that public opinion has moved on.
