Federal Court Rules Anthropic’s Supply-Chain-Risk Designation Unlawful—How Far Will Trade Restrictions Be Lifted?
On August 27, 2026, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California ruled that the U.S. Department of Defense’s designation of Anthropic as a supply-chain risk was unlawful. However, the ruling alone does not mean that all Anthropic-related procurement restrictions or separate litigation involving the company have ended.
